Did you know that 1 in 4 students who menstruate struggle to afford period products? Frustratingly, period products are not included in ANY government assistance program, making them unaffordable to more than 60,000 students across Middle Tennessee. Want to learn more? Let's Dish. Join the CRC for Dishin' up Dignity - a conversation on period poverty and its impact on students here in Middle Tennessee. Guests will hear from a panel of local educators, elected officials, and national period poverty experts. Confirmed Panelists include: Christiane Buggs, Metro Nashville Public Schools Board Member, District 5 Lacey Gero, Policy & Coalition Coordinator, National Alliance for Period Supplies Jenna Lester, Community School Coordinator, McGavock High School Kathleen Murphy, Nashville Metro Council Member, District 24 Kecia Ray, McKinney-Vento Coordinator, Sumner County Schools Luncheon Emcee: Erika Glover, News Anchor, Fox17 Some cycles are unavoidable - others don't have to be. Together, we can end the cycle of period poverty in Middle Tennessee.
